History and Overview

Electric Motor Shop is one of the largest, best equipped and most technically advanced companies of its kind in the southeast United States. Founded in 1952 by the late Thomas Wright, EMS is strategically located in Wake Forest and Rocky Mount, North Carolina. From industrial manufacturers and processors to utilities and municipalities, EMS offers an unparalleled resource for time critical, OEM quality electric motor, electromechanical and power transmission repair, rebuilding and retrofit services.

A member of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) since 1952, EMS services a larger geographic region, greater number of customers add wider diversity of industries than at any other time, but are not limited to those located in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgie, Florida and Tennessee. The industries we serve include pharmaceutical, chemical, aggregate, pulp and paper, textile, municipal, plastic extrusion, wind turbine/power generation, mining/quarry, asphalt and concrete manufacturing.
